Collection form: If you place several motifs together on one format and deliver one file for this, only the corresponding format will be invoiced, but also only this will be cropped. If in this case an additional cropping of the single images is desired, then this costs 2,- Euro for the respective single image.

How long does it take to make my picture?
In our product or category descriptions, you will find the average production times or the exact printing dates and deadlines for data submission.
I am unsure if the size of my image is sufficient. What can I do?
We check your data for the appropriate resolution for the desired size and whether the image proportions fit. If there are any problems or ambiguities, we will contact you.
What is the exact ordering process?
You either order your image in our online store Berlinprint.de or send us the file via our individual order with the appropriate info and your wishes noted.
For both order options, after we have successfully reviewed your data, you will receive an e-mail containing our invoice with the payment terms and informing you of the expected completion or shipping date.
If you have paid our invoice in advance, you can come to pick up your print at any time during our business hours from the completion date. Payment on site is possible by German EC card or cash. For staff reasons, however, we are happy if you have already paid in advance. This is possible by bank transfer or Paypal.
If your data is not readily printable, we will contact you in advance to inquire.
Can I pick up my print in person?
You can come to our retail store in Berlin-Friedrichshain for collection at any time from the notified completion date during our business hours from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 5:30 pm. Since we currently do not have the store open directly due to staffing reasons, then please just knock on our door.
How much does it cost to have a photo printed?
Prices for printing a photo start at 30 x 20 cm with 4,02 EUR. The printing price always depends on the chosen material and the size of the image. The resolution of your photo has an influence on which sizes are still well printable.
What format to print photos?
The aspect ratio of the photo should match the aspect ratio of the format to be printed. Many cameras take photos in the aspect ratio of 3:2 or 4:3. This results, for example, in a photo in the format 30 x 20 cm or with the 4:3 aspect ratio the format 40 x 30 cm. Optimal photo file FORMATS are jpg files, as these are not too large due to their compression and are therefore easy to send. But also png and tif are possible.
How can I print pictures from my cell phone?
You can email pictures from your smartphone directly to us on demand and have them printed on high-quality photo paper. Or you can upload your photos to be printed via our webshop during the order process.

Resistance of inks and fineart print papers
Print fine art prints correctly and enjoy them for a long time:
- Selection of an acid-free, ph-neutral material with alkaline buffering
- use high-lightfast pigmented inks, avoid dye-based inks.
- all materials that come into contact with your print should also be acid-free e.g. museum board, mounts or adhesives
- avoid large temperature fluctuations, rather colder than warmer, optimum is 19°C to 24°C
- relative humidity should not exceed 60 %, optimal is 40 %
- avoid direct sunlight, protect your prints from UV radiation and air pollutants such as ozone, optimal protection is museum glass or UV protection varnish.
Fineart print materials:
We print our fine art prints exclusively with inks tested and recommended by independent experts on high-quality printing materials.
We print as fine art prints mainly coated papers from Hahnemühle, Harman, Sihl and Epson, which are pH-neutral and lignin-free. We can offer various surfaces, from smooth handmade paper to textured watercolor papers and glossy photo materials.
How long is the "shelf life" of printed fine art prints?
The tests of the independent American Wilhelm Imaging Research Institute of the current Epson Ultrachrome K3 Vivid Magenta pigment inks have shown predicted lifetimes of approximately 60 years to over 200 years when printing fine art prints, depending on the print medium and color mode used.
"Durable" means that the colors of the print and the paper do not change visibly to the human eye within this period. In the case of printed fineart papers, this means that the first fading or color shift of the inks/papers that is visible to the naked eye does not occur until after this period.
The exact test results for printing fine art prints can be found for many papers and printers at www.wilhelm-research.com or read about it on our Download page download
Test results on the durability of prints of fineart prints on Hahnemühle fineart materials can also be found here: https://www.hahnemuehle. com/en/digital-fineart/aging-and-durability.html
How is the durability of printed fine art prints tested?
In a simplified model and assuming constant conditions (humidity, temperature, light source and no ozone influence), the bleaching effect of a light source is proportional to the illuminance multiplied by the illumination time. In simple terms, an artificial rapid aging test is performed with very high light intensity. The whole is then extrapolated.
The basis of this time specification is usually a presentation of the fineart print behind glass (i.e. in the frame behind normal glass) at 450 lux lighting (so-called museum conditions), 12 hours a day at approx. 60% humidity. Therefore, when stored under archival conditions (quasi in dark acid-free archival cardboard/album), a disproportionately higher durability is given. Depending on the paper, this can last up to 200 years and sometimes even more.
A comparison with the photo print
Compared to the printing of today's fine art prints, under the same measuring conditions (see above), most color photo papers begin to change their colors after only 12 to 18 years. By the way, the famous Ilfochrome/Cibachrome only lasted 29 years under these test conditions.
Fineart prints printing as giclee prints in the highest quality
Fineart prints printing on Epson & Canon printers
The most common printing process for fineart prints is inkjet printing. High-resolution printing machines as well as color-brilliant and long-term stable printing inks are the basic prerequisites. We print our matte fineart prints on large-format printers from the fineart printer market leader Epson. This allows brilliant printing on a wide range of different materials: from natural silk to artists' canvas, from lightweight tracing paper to fineart papers and watercolor boards with up to 500 g/sqm.
We produce our fineart prints in a 9- to 11-color inkjet printing process, depending on the press, using color-stable, pigmented inks that hit the substrate in variable droplet sizes of up to 3 picoliters and at a maximum resolution of 2880 x 1440 dpi.
We print non-matte fine art papers on Canon Pro 6100 printers, which are famous for their huge color gamut thanks to the additional RGB inks.
Giclee prints with Epson Ultrachrome VM inks
As Giclée ([ʒiˈkleː]), the printing of large-format, artistic, digital images with Inkjet printers designated.
The name is derived from French gicler for "to splash, spray" and is occasionally also anglicized as giclee used.
We use the original Epson Ultrachrome K3 Vivid Magenta inks and HDR inks with 9 to 11 printing colors depending on the printer type. Especially for grayscale prints, up to 4 different black inks are available, which enable almost metamerism-free printouts.
What good is the best technology if you can't handle it? Consistent in-house color management with optimized ICC profiles for each of our high-quality fineart papers and fabrics, enables the true-color reproduction of even the finest tonal nuances and image details on your fineart print.
High durability, color brilliance and depth on uncoated papers
One reason for the outstanding long-term stability is the resin-coated pigments used by Epson, which are very stable against UV radiation and ozone. The durable pigment inks make it possible to print on archival papers, for example, in order to use the inkjet printing process instead of photochemical processes in art reproduction or photography.
In fineart printing, textured papers and other special materials can also be printed directly as individual pieces, which is another advantage over classic duplication processes.
For optimum fineart print quality on matte artist papers and fabrics, we use the matte black variants of the corresponding Epson inks. This special black achieves higher density values and results in richer depths with the best differentiation in dark image areas.
